This game is a racing game set in an open-world environment based in Australia, with a map twice the size of Forza Horizon 2, including locations such as Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay, Yarra Valley, and the Outback. The game features four-player cooperative multiplayer campaigns and cross-platform play as part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program. At launch, 350 cars are available to players, making it the largest number of cars featured in a Horizon game to date.
While previous Horizon games portrayed players as one of the Horizon Festival racers, in this installment, players take on the role of the Festival Director. Their objective is to make it the biggest festival in the world. As the director, players can hire or fire racers and organize and customize races and Bucket List events around the map using the new Horizon Blueprint feature. Players have the ability to customize their character’s style and ethnicity, as well as customize vehicles with unique paint and designs, upgrades, and body kits from popular manufacturers like Rocket Bunny and Liberty Walk.
